The Prairie Baseball Academy has been at it for almost a month now. September is just about behind us, and the coaching staff is pleased with the progress thus far. It is a young group, but a very talented group of players. There have been flashes of brilliance, and some signs of immaturity, which is understandable. The boys took 3 of 4 from the University of Alberta over the weekend at Lloyd Nolan Yard. It was a good test to take on a brand new college program. The boys will be back in action this weekend against the Vauxhall Jets starting at 11:00am on Saturday at Lloyd Nolan. The boys will need to put in a hard week of practice, as they have dropped a couple games to the Jets earlier this fall.
Following the four game set against Vauxhall the boys will be off for a few days for Thanksgiving. When they return PBA will head into their annual Fall World Series. The veteran players will be captains for the World Series, and draft three teams that will compete over a two-week span. All games will be held at Lloyd Nolan, and will be open to the public to come watch. It is always an intense time of the year. It is the last chance for players to compete for roster spots on the Varsity team in the spring. More information about game times will be available in the next couple of weeks.
Lastly, the Prairie Baseball Academy is extremely excited about their Winter Elite Camp this year. Starting November 14th we will host camps 5 days a week until the start of March. It works out to 16 weeks of instruction. Parents can choose to put their son or daughter in once, twice or four times a week. For full details on the camp, and how to register please click here. The camp is already filling up fast, and if you want priority picking a night, the sooner you can sign up the better. If you have questions please feel free to contact the coaching staff at PBA at 403-320-1302 or [email protected].
Thank you to everyone who has come out to support the Prairie Baseball Academy this fall!
