Lloyd Nolan Yard was buzzing on Labor Day, as the Prairie Baseball Academy opened its doors for the 2014-2015 season. The last time the Dawgs were together, they celebrated their 4th consecutive CCBC Championship but that title is simply a fond memory now as the Dawgs begin work on another championship season.
The Dawgs return a big portion of their championship winning squad. These players include pitchers Clark Grisbrook, Pat Kelley, Ben Kennedy, and Carter Williams. Positionally the Dawgs welcome back the following: outfielders Tanner Banks and Troy Blad, and IF Dylan McKenna, IF Adam Revel, 1B Gray Symington, DH/1B Devan Thomas, and C Josh Wray.
Returning from the PBA Dawgs Junior Varsity team are the following: IF Nick Ankermann, 3B Dustin Braun, OF John Gaab, 3B Matt Malec, OF Alex Ross, 2B Chance Wheatley, and pitchers Glenn Harvie, Ryan Kozole, Jared Libke, Logan McDonald, Jesse McGowan, Marcus Pearce, Dylan Theroux, and Carter Uliac.
A complete 2014 Fall Roster with freshman and more positional information will appear on the website over the weekend. The Dawgs anticipate another very successful season at the Yard as the coaching staff believes that the Dawgs could field a very deep pitching staff and talented roster from top to bottom. First action for the Fall Season is this weekend at Lloyd Nolan Yard where the Dawgs will play doubleheaders on both Saturday and Sunday against the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball and the St. Francis Xavier Baseball Academy (Edmonton). Games are set to begin at 10:00 AM on both days as all three teams will play each other twice over the weekend with games to begin half an hour at the conclusion of the previous games.
