Tough Start in Las Vegas

As has been the tradition over the last half decade Coach Hubka does not believe in starting the season off easy. 2019 has surely been no different. With two games against #11 ranked College of Southern Idaho and four games against #6 ranked College of Southern Nevada, PBA has started off this spring with just about as hard a schedule as any junior college team could ask for. As could probably be expected PBA has gone 0-6 to start 2019, but Coach Hubka is trying to look at the positives heading into the final four games of their opening trip against Colorado Northern Community College.

Hubka had this to say about his team thus far in 2019:

“I feel like the team has learned a lot through these first 6 games. Pitching, which I think will be a strength for this ball club, began getting the kinks out the last couple of games. Defensively, it's easy to tell that we just haven’t got the reps in outside to be consistent, and its hurt us big time. When you are playing teams of the caliber we are you just can't give them extra opportunities.”

Hubka continued to say this about his offense:

“If we can continue to hit the ball like we have been it’s going to be an exciting offensive year. We’ve had a lot of squared up baseballs considering how little we have been outside. The more and more live pitching we see the better this offense is going to get. The team is looking forward to the remaining four game set this weekend, and hopefully we can get in the win column here soon!”

There were some technical issues with the online live stats for the first few games, but since has been sorted out. If you would like to follow along during this weekend's action please click HERE.
