The Prairie Baseball Academy has had a truly amazing year. It is at this time that we would like to thank everyone who has helped make this year so special. It was the 20th anniversary of the program in 2015 and without the help of so many great people what we do at the Prairie Baseball Academy would not be possible. We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from your PBA extended family.
In January the 20th Annual PBA Banquet was held at the Lethbridge Lodge. Coach Kubicek was in attendance. A great sight to see for so many alumni. Coach Kubicek started the program in 1995 and it was evident how proud he was to see some of his alumni doing so well, with families of their own. This year was also the first year that PBA recognized some of the outstanding performances for Lethbridge Little League. With the two groups combined it was a memorable sold out event.
In May PBA won their 5th consecutive CCBC Championship at Spitz Stadium in front of the home crowd. The team went a perfect 5-0 in their run to the championship taking down VIBI 5-3 in the final. Pat Kelley got the win, and Luc Hebert the save. Kelley will be pitching at Northern Kentucky University this upcoming season, while Hebert will be back atop the Dawgs rotation come February. It was Coach Hubka’s 5th victory in the championship in his 5 years as a head coach of the program. Congratulations to all of the players and coaches on an incredible accomplishment.
PBA would also like to thank the Alumni for their involvement in our GoGetFunding Campaign this year. With an established group of alumni of over 600 players, the program decided to reach out, and asked the alumni to help give back to the program they once called their own. With the help of video call outs on Facebook we were able to raise close to $10,000 for the program, which will go right back to the players in the form of scholarships. Thank you again Alumni!
2015 has also been a fantastic year for the PBA Winter Elite Camps. The coaching staff has been running camps five nights a week since the middle of November. Every night has been packed full of enthusiastic campers looking to get better in the offseason. PBA cannot thank everyone enough who has helped out with this year’s camp.
Wishing everyone safe travels this Holiday Season. Merry Christmas again from the Prairie Baseball Academy! Go Dawgs!
